While Rebecca has been laying low lately with newborns Dolly and Charlie, Jerry showed off adorable photos of the girls when he was playing host on Regis and Kelly a couple of weeks ago. Four teenagers in Queens have been arrested in a series of brutal muggings, one of which was caught in graphic detail on a surveillance video. They are accused of robbing six men in a string of violent incidents over the last two weeks. One of the victims told NY1 , ” I felt like I was going to die. You panic. You think, how could this be happening to me? You see it in the movies and you really don’t think its going to happen to you. ” Two of the robberies took place in Long Island City where deliverymen from the Bel Aire Diner were making dropoffs in the area. Through a translator, one of them said, “I thought they had a weapon, that’s why I didn’t defend myself; I didn’t do anything. I let them take my money. I let them take everything because I thought they had the weapon or something.” The four men arrested are ages 18 and 19 from Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx respectively. President Obama met with Democratic and Republican leaders yesterday to gather support for his economic stimulus plan . According to Politico’s sources , Obama listened to the GOP’s issues—which include the scope of the plan, the refundable tax credit, and their desire for more middle class tax cuts—but added, “I won.” And the Post reports that the new President also told Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) “I will trump you on that” and zinged, ” You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done .” He probably has his STFU Face on , too! A White House official explained, “There are big things that unify Republicans and Democrats. We shouldn’t let partisan politics derail what are very important things that need to get done.” In his weekly address—with a video posted on the White House website —the President said of his $825 billion plan , “If we do not act boldly and swiftly, a bad situation could become dramatically worse.”
